FAQs
Our fish is caught in the pristine waters of the Great Barrier Reef, Whitsundays, QLD, Australia and surrounding Coral Sea. Generally we fish amongst the outer reefs out from Ayr through to Mackay.
How fresh is the fish when it arrives?
2
Our fish are caught, brain spiked, bled and in ice within a very short timeframe when caught. When landed they stay iced until all fish are processed within 24hrs and prepared for sale. Most fish, including all fillets, are vacuum sealed to ensure premium freshness.
Is your fish wild caught?
3
Is your fish fresh or frozen?
Absolutely. We specialise in wild-caught reef fish, never farmed or imported seafood. This gives the fish a cleaner taste and firmer texture. All fish are line caught using sustainable practices.

Where does your fish come from?
1
Most supermarket seafood has passed through multiple handlers and distribution centres and you never truly know how old it is. It has also generally been frozen, then thawed for display and sale. Our fish goes from the ocean to processing and straight to customers, reducing time and preserving quality.
Both options can be available depending on species and logistics. Mainly our fish is fresh chilled and sold. We will always say when fish being sold is frozen. When we freeze fish, it is put in cryovac packaging done quickly to lock in freshness and eating quality.
Quality starts on the boat. Our fish are: 1/ Humanely dispatched; 2/ Bled immediately; 3/ Placed on ice. When landed, the fish are kept on ice until processed and vacuum sealed. This process preserves flavour and texture.
Orders are packed in insulated boxes with ice or cold packs designed to maintain safe temperatures during transport.
Not necessarily. The packaging is designed to keep seafood cold for an extended period, but we recommend bringing it inside as soon as possible. If not going to be home, a good idea is to leave a note when ordering for directions on where to place when it is delivered.
Yes. Our vacuum-sealed portions freeze very well and maintain quality when thawed correctly.
Generally fresh fish lasts up to 3 days refrigerated, especially if cryovaced. Freezing is recommended if not eating soon.
Yes. We regularly offer mixed fish boxes and bulk packs which are popular with families and people who want to stock the freezer. When offered, these bulk boxes will be able to be ordered online.
A good rule of thumb is 200-300g per person for a meal.
Absolutely. We follow regulated Australian commercial fishing rules and catch methods designed to maintain healthy fish stocks. All our fish are caught by hand line or rod line. We do not use nets, traps or long line.
Yes. We hold a Primary Commercial Fishing License (PCFL) Class L2, with symbols RQ and SM which allows us to line fish in the Great Barrier Reef. We also hold a Commercial Fishing License with a registered Boat Mark. Our skippers hold a license at a minimum Coxswain NC1. We are registered under SafeFood QLD for correct procedures and handling of fish caught.
Yes. You can choose whole or filleted when ordering. Filleting is done carefully to maximise yield and eating quality.
Because we don’t over catch or over promise. Each drop is limited by what’s responsibly caught and handled to our standard. Weather also has an influence over when we can go out and when we can’t.
